Abrahamson first female Grand Champion for Alberta Motor Transport Association’s (AMTA) Professional Truck Driving Championship
Edmonton International Airport, AB – June 2, 2025 – Brandy Abrahamson, a commercial driver with GLS Canada/Rosenau was the first female winner of the Ann Taylor Grand Champion Trophy in AMTA’s 75th Professional Truck Driving Championship. Abrahamson also took first place in the Straight Truck category of the competition.
Commercial drivers are the backbone of Alberta’s economy, ensuring that essential goods and services reach every corner of the province. This event celebrates not only their vital role but also the exceptional skill, precision, and dedication required to navigate Alberta’s roads safely and efficiently. Drivers compete in one of five demanding categories—Straight Truck, Pup-Trailer/Day Cab, Tandem Day Cab, Tandem Bunk, and B-Train—each showcasing the unique challenges and expertise demanded by their vehicles, as well as participating in a written exam, and pre-trip challenge.
Out of the 27 competitors who participated, the 2025 competition winners are as follows:
