Bill started his career as a truck driver earlier than most—he would ride with his father when he was still a kid. Trucking is a bit of a family business, with Bill's father and brother making a living from truck driving. Bill himself started in 1993 with city work before progressing to the long-haul driving he does now.  He's seen many changes over his years of driving, but the clear highlight was the switch away from paper logbooks to electronic logs.

Outside of driving, Bill has pursued a variety of competitive hobbies at different stages of his life, from baseball when he was younger, through competitive paintball and RC car racing. But now his biggest competition is keeping up with the yard work on his acreage. He's raised two children and is now enjoying a granddaughter as well. Bill is now in his fourth decade of driving, but he still enjoys getting behind the wheel. The flexibility of being in charge of his schedule and being out on his own on the road still appeals to him.
