Course Description:
Fundamentals of Auditing (FOA) is a foundational course that provides an introductory overview of the auditing process. Key topics addressed in this course include:
- The theory of audits and hands-on exercises
- Audit purposes and goals
- Types of audits
- Validation methods
- Required skills for information analysis
FOA has been designed to help transportation professionals who have no previous auditing experience and those who have not completed a COR or SECOR course, develop the knowledge and skills to be successful at the following:
- Understanding key auditing terms
- Understanding what auditing is in the context of both safety and compliance
- Understanding the benefits of safety and compliance auditing
- Understanding the necessary knowledge and required skills to complete effective safety and/or compliance audits
