The Alberta Motor Transport Association is a province-wide, not-for-profit, advocacy and safety training association that strives to facilitate the safe and efficient transport of people and goods to make life better for Albertans. For more than 80 years, our work has encompassed a broad range of environmental, social, economic, safety and compliance matters that impact provincial highways. POSITION OBJECTIVE

With a focus on member service and an in-depth knowledge of the transportation industry, the incumbent works to grow membership, limit attrition, and promote the usage of AMTA products and services. Working collaboratively, our team ensures that commercial carriers in Alberta, and the industries who support them, are connected to the AMTA in a way which provides value to their fleets.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise & support team of Member Solutions, including but not limited to overview of daily tasks, training and goal setting

• Strategically plan and execute opportunities for member value and growth

• Work along side other Sr. Advisors with assisting members to identify solutions

• Work closely with the Marketing, Communications and Events teams to align strategies and leverage designated marketing and communications tactics and collateral

• Work with Manager, Member Services on growth objectives, strategic planning and execution of strategic plan

• Proactively seek new business or project opportunities in the industry

• Promote the AMTA and its products and services to members, industry, and the public

• Communicate information and create awareness of the various AMTA programs to Alberta employers

• Support the continuous growth of COR, SECOR, and other programs of safety excellence

• Promote maximum member retention through regular contact and connection to products and services

• Contact potential clients through cold calls and emails

• Develop quotes and proposals for clients

• Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services

• Listen to member needs and pass intelligence to other teams for potential product or service development

• Customize product solutions to increase member value

• Build long-term trusting relationships with members

• Set up meetings or calls with prospective and current members

• Stay up to date with new products/ services and pricing changes

• Support regional meetings

• Support Driver of the Month program

• Plan and execute committee meetings

• Participate in relevant meetings, conferences, and workshops, as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education: Post-Secondary education in business administration or marketing, or equivalent work experience in a related field.

Experience:  Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive, or similar role, preferably in the transportation industry.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access and software in general

• Proficient in the use of mobile technologies for productivity

• Demonstrates the ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Innovation and problem-solving skills that include the ability to develop and propose solutions for members
