Meet Terry, he has over 40 years’ experience in the transportation industry as a Class 1 truck owner/operator/driver. He has cultivated leadership and communication skills that would transfer well to a new position. As a seasoned customer service representative, he also has skills in communication, conflict management and problem-solving and proven administrative skills including purchasing, invoicing, record keeping and scheduling. Over 40 years of experience in the transportation industry as a Class 1 truck operator/owner/driver.
Proven safety record and experience completing pre- and post-trip inspections and demonstrated compliance with government safety regulations.
Skills and strengths:
Administrative: Invoicing, purchase orders and record keeping (maintained logbook to record daily vehicle inspections, incident reports, daily activity, departure times, mileage, hours of service and loads delivered).
Customer service: Works professionally with customers, responds to customer inquiries or concerns in a friendly, courteous and timely manner.
Communication: Proficient dispatching and strong active listening skills.
Interpersonal: Team-oriented individual that contributes to a positive work culture.
Time management: Self-directed and highly organized with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Management and supervision: Hiring, training and supervision. Oversaw 25 trucks and 14 lease operators.
Problem-solving: Applies critical thinking for resolving issues and developing solutions.
Attitude: Dedicated employee with a willingness to learn new skills and competently and responsibly apply them.
Physical abilities and work restrictions:
Floor-to-waist-level lifting up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis and no overhead lifting
Front carry up to 20 lbs. rare basis/right-side carry up to 30 lbs./rare basis/left-side carry up to 20 lbs. rare basis
Push/pull heavy level on a rare basis
No elevated work and crouching and kneeling should be avoided
Unloaded stair climbing on an occasional basis
Regular left-hand resting and stretching while driving – short, microbreaks (30 – 60 seconds) to relieve fatigue and increase comfort.
