February 2024 Driver of the Month: Travis McKort, Whitecourt Transport Inc.

Congratulations AMTA February Driver of the Month: Travis McKort!

Travis was originally inspired to drive truck by watching his father climb into a truck and go to work every morning. Following suit, he has been a Class 1 driver for 18 years. Whitecourt Transport Inc. is incredibly proud to have him driving one of our Woodfibre trucks for the last 13 of those 18 years.

Travis’s Manager says, “He is a team player with a great safety record and is always willing to help out when we are in a pinch.”

Not only is he hard working, reliable, and versatile, but Travis cares for his work equipment just like his personal truck (immaculate). The Maintenance Manager says, “having drivers like Travis makes the maintenance department’s job a lot easier.”

Travis says that working for Whitecourt Transport Inc. has given him steady year-round work which can be hard to find when working in the Oilfield & Forestry industries. One thing he loves about driving is, the different places he gets to go and all the people he’s been able to meet along the way.

If Travis can give one piece of advice to those reading this article, it would be “Take your time, your life is more important than the task at hand. The goal is to get home safely every night.”
