AMTA Board of Directors appoints Robert Harper as president

The Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) Board of Directors has announced Robert Harper has been appointed President of the Association. Robert will begin this role February 27, 2024.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the official appointment of Robert Harper moving into the role of President of AMTA,” says Doug Paisley, AMTA Board Chair. “In his past role as Controller, Robert has proven himself to have the understanding, experience, and knowledge to lead the team and the organization in the right direction, now and into the future. We are confident in Robert’s ability to make a positive impact on AMTA, its members, our partners, and the commercial transportation industry as a whole.”

An experienced professional with a breadth of experience spanning more than 30 years, Robert has a proven track record in finance for the supply chain and energy sectors.

“Safety, research, and innovation are at the heart of what AMTA represents and as an Association we will continue to work with our membership and partners to advance our Board’s strategic goals,” Harper says. “As a leader I strive to have an open door and find solutions to fit any situation.”

Robert is a graduate of the Ivey School of Business Strategic Leadership Program, a Chartered Professional Accountant/CA, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University.
