AMTA PDIC Online
The revised and enhanced PDIC (Professional Driver
Improvement Course) online course has been approved by
Alberta Transportation and is now available.

This new revised version of the PDIC qualifies for the 3
demerit removal and fulfills one of the pre-course
requirements for the Long Combination Vehicle course.
Those wishing to avail themselves of these benefits MUST
take the final examination at one of the two AMTA
offices (Edmonton or Calgary), or in front of a
certified PDIC instructor; any fees charged by these
instructors is the sole responsibility of the student.
Facilitator Skills online
The 2-day Facilitator Skills course has been transformed
into an online version, and is now available.
The content is very similar to that of the in-class
version, and contains exercises and some video clips to
enhance the presentation.

The Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Certificate
Program at the University of Alberta provides

Up-coming Health and Safety Conference and
Trade Show – 10 Years and Building

The Employer Review Process has been under review over
the last year and changes have been made to the process.
The Minister of Employment and Immigration recently made
an announcement in this regard.

Alberta Trucks Are Getting
Safer
Transport trucks and their drivers are among the safest
vehicles on the road, and are getting safer according to
the newly released Alberta Traffic Collision statistics
which looks at safety numbers between 2005 and 2009.

Driving for Work: Developing Safe Practices
for Employers and Workers
The” Driving for Work: Developing Safe Practices for
Employers and Workers” manual is now available. This
manual as well as an eLearning Awareness Program dealing
with Hazard Assessment for Driving were developed to
support the Road Safety at Work Strategy and are aimed
at preventing and reducing the approximately one third
of workplace fatalities that occur each year in Alberta
