Comprehensive Safety Analysis  CSA 2010

AMTA  will be hosting a half day seminar on the FMCSA's new CSA 2010 initiative that came into affect last year and how it affects Canadian Carriers doing business in the US. This seminar will  feature Bruce Holmes the Division Administrator for the Montana Division of  the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)   The seminar will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in Edmonton  and February 16, 2011 in Calgary .

CSA 2010 is a major change in the processing of information for the Federal Motor Carrier Highway Administration and its auditors.  This policy has changed the way business will be done.   All carriers, truckers, and fleet managers doing business in the U.S. will need to understand these changes.

The operational model for CSA 2010 features continuous monitoring and tracking of driver/carrier safety performance.

A new Safety Measurement System (SMS) is used for accessing available roadside performance data.  This data is used to rank carrier performance relative to their peers in any of six Behavior Analysis and Safety Improvement Categories (BASICS) as well as crash involvement (Crash Indicator).

The six BASICS are:
-
How does this program work
- How does this affect AB carriers
- What changes have been made since the test completed and the rollout began
- What items are still being evaluated
- How do AB carriers make suggestions and provide input
- Separate fact & fiction
