US Regulatory Compliance - What’s New South
of the Border
The AMTA is hosting a half day Presentation
by Bruce Holmes the
Montana Division Administrator of the US Department of
Transportation. Bruce will explain what the industry needs to
know regarding current and changing DOT issues and how they
affect Canadian Trucking into the US. Please direct any

The Seminar
will be held on May 6th

Red Deer Lodge ( Waskasoo Ballroom)
and starts with a Deluxe Continental Breakfast and concludes
with a question and answer session.
The following topics will
be addressed:

Comprehensive
Safety Analysis (CSA) 2010 - The purpose of the CSA
2010 initiative is to develop more effective and efficient
methods for FMCSA, together with industry and state
partners, to achieve its mission of reducing commercial
motor vehicle (CMV) crashes, fatalities, and injuries. This
will be going into effect for Alberta carriers in May 2009.
Key Features of CSA 2010 are to:
Increase the opportunity to have
contact with more carriers and drivers;
Use more and better data to improve performance measurements
for identifying high risk carrier and driver
behaviors; and
Apply a wide range of interventions to correct these high
risk behaviors before they become chronic and habitual.
