Each year, AMTA looks forward to welcoming trucking industry leaders at its Annual General Meeting and Conference (April 29 - 30, 2011), which takes  place at the Rimrock Hotel in Banff, AB.

The AMTA Conference is where transportation leaders gather each year to network, take in the latest information about hot-button issues facing the industry, and retreat to plan the association's direction and activities in the upcoming year.

We also take great pride in presenting a variety of awards to industry members and fleets singled out for special recognition because of their outstanding commitment to the industry.

Conference activities will get under way on Friday, April 29th with a reception at 11:00 AM  followed by lunch and several award presentations.

Friday afternoon will be devoted to an industry “Green”” Session  and will feature  a panel  discussion with  experts on  methods to reduce greenhouse gas emissions ,( fuel savings). Everything from single wide tires to telemetrics, bio fuels, idling  and managing  programs and training will be discussed. This will be followed with a Q&E session with the panelists.

Running concurrent with the above business session will be a comprehensive Spousal program.  Activities include Makeovers by Maddpretty Makeover Studio, tarot card reading by Angela, toenail art by Twinkle Toes, Jewellery by Eclectica Jeweler, and a belly dancing class by Arabia Adorned Bellydance Academy.
 
The theme for Friday evening is “the Untouchables”. Following dinner delegates will have an opportunity to win big at a variety of casino games  with lots of prizes to be won.

Again this year on Saturday morning, there will be a full breakfast followed by two business sessions including  the AMTA Annual General meeting.

The keynote speaker at the Saturday luncheon will be Wayne Lee and his “Ignite the Magic Within Empowerment “Presentation. Wayne Lee teaches people his Life is MagicTM philosophy of how to break through illusions of fear and self-doubt, and to adopt specific ways of thinking, feeling and acting. Wayne also uses his MAGIC formula – Motivation, Awareness, Goals, Imagination and Choices – to teach people how to achieve laser-like mental focus to become the best they can be.

Empowerment speaker, author and hypnotist Wayne Lee, is an expert on the power of the mind. After performing for more than 2,500 audiences across North America and hypnotizing more than 20,000 people, Wayne developed his Life is MagicTM philosophy revealing that people have a deep inner MAGIC that allows them to create the life they truly want.

The Conference will culminate with the Presidents Banquet on Saturday night.
